Rochelle Pennington is an award-winning newspaper columnist and bestselling author of ten books including: Highlighted in Yellow, Christmas Gifts: Ten of the Greatest Ever Given, The Historic Christmas Tree Ship, Old-Fashioned Christmas, and more. Her work has been included in multiple bestselling series over the past two decades.
An Old-Fashioned Christmas captures the spirit of the bygone holidays between 1930 and 1960. In addition to a power-point presentation filled with history and humor, Pennington brings along items from her antique toy collection, as well as other antiques pertaining to Christmas. She also includes information on Billie-the-Brownie, Santa’s favorite elf, who was a character dreamed up by advertising executives in the late 1920s at Schuster’s Department Store in Milwaukee for a promotional campaign.

Dick Pfeiffer of Cream City Memories will be speaking about “The Blizzard of ’47” that left Milwaukee buried under 18 inches of snow. The presentation includes slides of archived photos, newspaper articles, and actual film footage of the blizzard which has been featured on local news stations. Pfeiffer is known for his engaging and delightful presentations, and he enjoys interacting with the audience and sharing memories with those who survived the Blizzard that paralyzed the city.

Fun with Shakespeare: Get Outside with Will
Workshop: 5:30PM
Play: 7:00PM ~ “A Comedy of Errors”
Workshop & play are FREE
Summit Players workshops are focused on Shakespeare’s use of nature in his plays and general theatre practices. They play games, work with text, and explore the natural world through the lens of Shakespeare’s words. Members of the company work with the the kids (and fun adults), spending time learning about how fun Shakespeare can be, and trying to alleviate any “iambic pentajitters.” The workshops are approximately 45 minutes long, and presented prior to each performance.
The play is “A COMEDY OF ERRORS” ~ 7:00PM
Catch the Summit Players’ brand new production of Shakespeare’s THE COMEDY OF ERRORS with BIG LAUGHS, BIG CHARACTERS, AND BIG FUN!
The goal is to use theatre as a learning medium and introduce children to a love of language, communicating, and constructive play, while providing adults with an enjoyable family experience.
The workshop and play are free of charge.

Magic/Illusionist Show with Glen Gerard

Back by popular demand, Glen Gerard entertains with his terrific magic and comedy. Glen’s hilarious show integrates Magic, Comedy, Sleight of Hand, and Mind Reading with plenty of audience participation! Glen is a Las Vegas, Comedy Club, Casino, and Cruise Ship Headliner. Credits include appearances with Tim Allen, the Smothers Brothers, Tracy Morgan, Bobcat Goldthwait, Tony Danza,Lewis Black, Frank Caliendo, and headlining the Las Vegas Comedy Festival. As seen by the Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Bucks, and the Green Bay Packers, as well as hundreds of corporations such as Amway, Harley Davidson, SC Johnson, Chase, John Deere, and more.

Lake Country Swing

Reminisce with Lake Country Swing. Join us for an evening of “swing” music from the Big Band era, including standards like “That Old Black Magic,” On a Slow Boat to China,” “Lover,” “Love for Sale,” and many more.

The Tale of Two Hemispheres
Polar bears and penguins may live on opposite sides of the globe, but this 45-minute show teaches children what they can do to help these magnificent animals from home. Join a film crew in “Lights, Camera, Arctic!” to help Ursus the polar bear slow the effects of global climate change. Then the audience will become pirates to help a Humboldt penguin find its treasure in “The Treasure of the Sea.” Concepts presented include habitats, energy conservation, sustainable seafood and more! Most appropriate for grades 1-5 and families with children of all ages.
