Leahys Luck – Irish Music @ SummerStage
Aug 11 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Leahys Luck – Irish Music

Part of the “Music Series”

Saturday, August 11 – 6:30PM

$15.00 Adults, $13 Senior/Student/Military, $7 Youth

LEAHYS LUCK has been performing Irish folk music for twenty years with five recordings to their credit and a Wisconsin Area Music Industry World/Ethnic Group of the Year award. In years past they’ve played at the Quad Cities’ Erin Feis, Peoria’s Erin Feis, Chicago’s Gaelic Park, and Cleveland’s Irish Festival and have performed at many other festivals, concerts, and gatherings throughout the Midwest.

Brothers Brian and Tom Leahy lead the band with guitars, bass, and distinctive vocals. Evan Leahy, Tom’s son, a world-class Irish drummer, has played internationally. While he masters the bodhrán as his foundation, he continues to develop his talent with guitar and vocals.

Randal Harrison has played his fiddle with the Savannah Symphony Orchestra, as well as bluegrass giants Vassar Clements and John Hartford, and he received two 2008 Madison Area Music Awards: one for Classical Artist of the Year and the second for Jazz Artist of the Year. His talent, versatility, energy, stage antics, and enjoyment of the fiddle are nothing short of remarkable. Randal shares his love and understanding of improvisation with students of all ages at workshops, institutes and classrooms throughout the United States.

Stas Venglevski is a bayan accordion virtuoso, performing with symphonies internationally.  In addition, he has performed with the Milwaukee Pops Orchestra led by Doc Severinsen, has appeared with Garrison Keillor’s “A Prairie Home Companion”, and has played numerous venues far and near. His artistry, dazzling technical command, and sensitivity have brought Stas — a native of the Republic of Moldova, part of the former Soviet Union — world-wide acclaim. With eleven recordings to his credit, he has served as President of the prestigious International Accordionists and Teachers Guild. A lover of all types of music, Stas adds his own all-world flavor to the sound of Leahys Luck.

Whiskey Belles – Country, Bluegrass @ SummerStage

Whiskey Belles – Country, Bluegrass

Part of the “Music Series”

Saturday, August 18 – 6:30PM

$15.00 Adults, $13 Senior/Student/Military, $7 Youth

Roots Country Music, Born of Gin Halls and Juke Joints – Hank Williams passion, Carter family harmonies, with a little Hee Haw mixed in for good measure. The WhiskeyBelles are an all-female traditional country and Americana trio. They’ve been compared with the Pistol Annies, Dixie Chicks and The Trio (Dolly Parton, Emmy Lou Harris & Linda Ronstadt). The WhiskeyBelles have personalities as big as the Texan skyline – they have a great time on stage, and love to share the fun with their audience.

The ‘Belles started their musical shenanigans in May of 2011 and by July of the following year they released their independent debut album, “Whiskey Woman,” which was named one of the 10 best local albums of 2012 by Milwaukee Magazine. They released their second album on November 30th, 2013. This release is a raucous Christmas album aptly titled, “Nothin’ Says Christmas Like Whiskey”.

Both of their studio albums have received wide-spread radio play across the U.S. and as far away as France and The Netherlands. The title track from their debut album, Whiskey Woman, recently climbed to #8 on the monthly Freeform American Roots Chart (FAR). The chart is assembled of reports from 130 radio stations world wide. FAR is compiled by John Conquest for 3rd Coast Music Magazine, the essential eNewspaper for American Roots music.

Then in June, 2015 they released their third CD, a live album titled Tales from the Bootleggers’ Ball. A fun-filled, larger than life album that gives the listener a taste of what it’s like to hear the WhiskeyBelles in their element, performing live.

Besides completing their 4th album, Dance in the Moonshine in July of 2017, the WhiskeyBelles have kept a busy schedule performing over 65+ shows a year.

They have also won the WAMI award for Americana/Bluegrass Artist of the Year as well as the coveted People’s Choice Award and have opened for country stars such as Charlie Daniels, Montgomery Gentry, The Lost Trailers, The Kentucky Headhunters and Cadillac Three.
